Bernina Glaciers – Diavolezza
The fascination of glaciers
Find out more
Cela en dit long.
Since 6 November 2020 there are extensive restrictions on public life in the Italian region of Lombardy. For the time being the Bernina Express will only be running to and from Campocologno. The same is true of regional trains. It is recommended travellers embark and disembark in Poschiavo or Le Prese. The start of the season for Bernina Express trains 972 and 975 will be postponed to 8 May 2021. In addition, the start of the season for Bernina Express trains 950/955 and 973/976 as well as the Bernina Express Bus has also been postponed from 8 May to 4 June 2021. Journeys booked until then on the affected trains as well as on the Bernina Express Bus will be cancelled and refunded free of charge.
The valley in the southern Alps is a great place to enjoy lengthy hikes, leisurely strolls and fine regional specialities. Explore the historic heart of Poschiavo, centred around its pleasant piazza, and discover various aspects of the valley's history in one of the museums or the colourful "Spanish Quarter" built by returning emigrants. Soaking up the beautiful scenery at the Lago di Poschiavo makes a fitting end to a memorable trip.

Travelling safely on public transport
The protection of passengers and employees continues to be the top priority. The cleaning of the trains has been intensified. Several times a day, contact surfaces and surfaces such as handrails, buttons, tables, armrests and toilets are cleaned and disinfected. Cleaning is also carried out more frequently at the stations. Passengers also have the opportunity to wash their hands in the open WC facilities at the stations in accordance with the regulations. Disinfectant dispensers have been installed at staffed stations.
In accordance with the FOPH guidelines, a hygiene mask must be worn for public transport from the age of 12. Passengers are responsible for having and wearing a protective mask. Passengers buy tickets online, in apps or from vending machines and pay contactlessly at ticket counters. The protection concept of public transport is based on the personal responsibility and solidarity of the travellers. If they adhere to the measures described above, they can travel safely on Swiss public transport.
