Castle Tarasp

The thousand-year-old walls of Schloss Tarasp castle

Perched on a 100-metre-high rock, the castle of Tarasp watches over the Lower Engadin. Its 1,000-year-old walls are reflected mysteriously in the waters of the lake below.

Within its walls, this landmark of the Lower Engadin houses former knights' halls and ballrooms, bed chambers and guest rooms as well as an ancient chapel. The castle's many rooms can only be visited as part of a guided tour.

There's plenty to do in and around the castle of Tarasp.

Guarda

In the village that is home to children's character "Schellen-Ursli", farmers, artists and artisans still sell their products. The hamlet on a sunny terrace high above the River Inn is known for its brightly painted houses decorated with flowers. The "Bell for Ursli" trail takes families through the story by Selina Chönz and Alois Carigiet.
