Vereina car transporter

Please observe the loading and safety instructions before and during the journey.

• There is no entitlement to travel on a specific train.

• Reservations are not possible.

• No guarantee is given for adherence to the timetable.

• Additional trains will be deployed if there is a foreseeable large number of people at weekends and on public holidays.

• All vehicles up to a corner height of 3.30 m and/or up to a total weight of 18 tonnes will be loaded until shortly before the train departs.

• Observe the general loading and safety instructions for your journey.

• Motorhomes, open vehicles and vehicles with fabric roofs must be checked in 15 minutes before the train departs.

• Motorcycles must be checked in at least 15 minutes before the train departs.

• Motorcycles must be approved for a top speed of at least 80 km.

• Motorcycles, small motorcycles and mopeds with a maximum speed of under 80 km/h cannot be loaded.

• Observe the general loading and safety instructions for your journey.

• Limited transport capacity for large vehicles with a corner height of more than 3.30 m and/or a total weight of more than 18 tonnes. Please observe the loading profile.

• Vehicles with a height of more than 3.30 m and/or a total weight of more than 18 tonnes must be checked in 15 minutes before the train departs.

• The vehicles are arranged lengthways. Stop in the middle of the wagon, centred with respect to either side of the car transporter carriage (ensure even distribution of weight).

• Radio aerials must be retracted, taped down or removed. Side aerials must be retracted at least until they are level with the vehicle roof. Roof aerials must lie flat (taped down if required) or be removed in order to avoid contact with the electrical overhead during loading and unloading.

Loading onto transporter wagons with roof protection:

• max. 2.55 m width (max. corner height 3.30 m)

• max. loading height 3.77 m (e.g. buses), permissible corner heights see loading profile

• max. 18.5 m long

• max. 18 tonnes total weight

• The clearance width on the car transport wagons is 2.90 m (this also applies in the area of the wing mirrors). If necessary, wing mirrors must be folded in or removed for the journey on the car transporter train.

• Bus and coach passengers must remain in their vehicles.

• What to do in an emergency: advance your vehicle to the next wagon coupling and keep as far to the left as possible to allow the front doors to be opened for exit; passengers must not get off the car train until told to do so by rail personnel.

Loading onto transporter wagons without roof protection:

• max. 2.6 m wide

• max. 12.5 m wheelbase (from the first to the last axle)

• max. 4 m high

• max. 28 tonnes total weight (complete the form to apply for special permission for all other vehicles)

• Normal practice is to load vehicles with a corner height of between 3.31 m and 4.00 m onto the wagon at the end of the train in Selfranga, and onto the wagon at the head of the train in Sagliains.

• Tolerance: please observe the loading profile.

• Vehicles must be earthed (grounded) by loading personnel. Please do not move your vehicle until asked to do so by loading personnel.

• Buses and coaches: bus and coach passengers travelling from Klosters to Lavin or vice versa are booked onto scheduled passenger trains. The tickets are included in the price of transport. A seat reservation is required on board the passenger train (Klosters Platz station, Tel.: +41 (0) 81 288 37 16 or e-mail: klosters@rhb.ch). Access to Lavin station, only possible via the village bypass and access from the Scuol side.

• It is not permitted to load bicycles, e-bikes and similar vehicles on the car trains.

• These vehicles can be transported on passenger trains between Klosters Platz and Lavin/Zernez stations using self-loading.

• Bicycles, e-bikes and similar vehicles attached to the motor vehicles (roof or rear carriers) are excluded from this prohibition and can be transported on the Vereina car transporter.

The special permit for vehicles over 28 tonnes total weight must be applied for at least three working days before the scheduled transport.
