You will find all the important information in the online timetable. Please note that there may be a shortage of space for bicycles on popular routes. Bicycles cannot be transported on trains marked with the appropriate symbol in timetables.

On the Bernina Line, some trains run with luggage cars that offer more space for transporting bicycles. Space is very limited on all other trains with bicycle transport options.

You get bicycles, e-bikes or similar mobile devices into the designated compartments or into the RhB luggage car yourself. RhB employees will be happy to advise you and ensure your safety when loading and unloading your bicycle. To ensure everything runs smoothly, please make sure you are at the luggage car in good time to load/unload your bicycle.

You can also load special bicycles yourself. Bicycles that are longer than two metres are considered to be special bikes; they are usually tandems, recumbent bikes and cargo bikes. A bike ticket covers the permitted self-loading of special bicycles.

Bike tickets are valid on RhB, SBB, PostBus and various other transport companies. Each passenger is allowed to transport one bicycle. Please show your bike ticket along with your normal ticket, without being asked to do so.

Self-service bicycle transport is not available for groups of ten and more people. In this case, you must make a reservation in advance at least 48 hours before departure at the station or by calling Railservice on +41 81 288 65 65 or by e-mailing railservice@rhb.ch. Bicycles can be dispatched as luggage from staffed railway stations.

Bicycles you have loaded yourself belong to the category of “hand luggage subject to extra payment”. The person carrying out the loading is responsible for the item(s) handled. The railway shall only be liable for damages in the case of contractual infringement or negligence on its part.

Please use the rearmost bicycle hooks first. This is particularly important on heavily used routes such as the Bernina Line in order to make full use of the space. Make sure that passageways and exits are not blocked.

Yes, special bikes such as tandems, recumbent bikes and cargo bikes (longer than two metres) are permitted. A bike ticket covers the permitted self-loading of special bicycles.
