Frequently asked questions about tickets
It’s easy to do so online via the ticket shop, at a staffed RhB station, via the contact form or by calling Railservice on +41 81 288 65 65.
The discounts listed are valid on Rhaetian Railway trains, including the Bernina Express and Glacier Express. Seat reservations on board the Bernina Express and Glacier Express must be purchased in addition to the ticket. In the case of travel experiences, the provisions of the respective journey apply.

Yes, groups of ten or more people save 30%. Please note the reservation requirement.
Tickets cannot be purchased online until six months before the planned journey. Tickets are neither limited nor linked to the seat reservation. If your travel date is less than six months in the future, you can buy your ticket.
Important: when selecting the train connection, please pay attention to the departure and destination points on your seat reservation so that you can choose a ticket for the right route.
The seat reservation remains in place even without a ticket. However, you must be able to present a ticket to go with your reservation on board the train. You can buy tickets online, over the counter or from ticket machines six months in advance.
Tickets can be refunded up to one day before the journey with an administration fee of CHF 10.00. Special saver tickets will not be refunded.
Children under the age of six do not need a public transport ticket; they travel free of charge. A seat reservation is also required for journeys on the Bernina Express or Glacier Express.
Frequently asked questions when booking
RhB vouchers: RhB vouchers cannot be redeemed online. Please contact the staffed RhB stations or our Railservice (telephone: +41 81 288 65 65 or e-mail: railservice@rhb.ch)
Glacier Express vouchers: vouchers for the Glacier Express can be redeemed online at glacierexpress.ch.
SBB gift cards: SBB gift cards can only be redeemed at staffed RhB stations and ticket machines.
Please note that vouchers do not count as tickets.

Dogs are allowed on regional trains and on the Bernina Express. They do not require a seat reservation. Dogs above a certain size pay half the price of a 2nd class ticket. Dogs measuring less than 30 cm in height (up to the shoulder blades) do not require a ticket, provided they are carried in a suitable container (e.g. a transport box or a hand-held basket).
PLEASE NOTE: dogs are not allowed on board the Glacier Express due to hygiene guidelines for catering.

Bookings can also be made at all European rail outlets for cash.
Online bookings cannot be changed. However, you can make a new reservation and change the class of ticket at the ticket office before departure.

Please send an e-mail to railservice@rhb.ch, providing the following details:
The credit card number that was charged (please state name of cardholder and the last four numbers of the card)
The amount that was charged in CHF
The time at which the card was charged (date and time, as exact as possible)
We will then check the charge to your credit card and refund the amount to your credit card if you have been unduly charged.
Frequently asked questions about reservations
Online seat reservations cannot be changed or cancelled, in accordance with the general terms and conditions. Exceptions can be found here: Refund.
The desired date is probably outside the booking period.
Reservations for the Bernina Express can be made for the entire timetable period.
Reservations for 1st and 2nd class on the Glacier Express can be made 93 days in advance at the earliest.
Reservations for Excellence Class on the Glacier Express can be made for the entire timetable period.
A timetable period usually ends between early and mid-December. The trains (Bernina Express and Glacier Express) will be activated in the online shop between mid and late October for the coming timetable period.
The direction of travel of the coaches is unknown because the coaches can be added at both ends of the train. If booking for more than one person, we recommend reserving seats opposite one another.
