Rhaetian Railway combines tradition with progress. The result is buildings and structures that last generations, vehicles that combine comfort and sustainably, and innovations that cause a sensation around the world. Whether construction projects, modern railcars or our specially developed tunnel construction method - every project contributes to ensuring RhB remains fit for the future.

Standard tunnel construction
A construction method with many advantages
Rhaetian Railway has developed an innovative process for renovating tunnels more efficiently, safely and sustainably. This method enables work to be carried out during operation and extends the service life of the structures from what was originally 30-50 years to up to 100 years. RhB is thus setting new standards in tunnel construction.

World record
The longest passenger train in the world
On 29 October 2022, Rhaetian Railway made history: with 25 Capricorn railcars and a length of 1,906 metres, it operated the longest passenger train in the world. On the UNESCO World Heritage route from the Albula Tunnel to the Landwasser Viaduct, thousands of guests and millions of spectators around the world experienced a spectacular event. The railway festival in Bergün with exhibitions, TV broadcasts and model replicas turned the world record into a popular festival.
