It takes a great deal of human effort and passion to ensure that our trains travel reliably through the Swiss canton of Graubünden day in, day out, safely getting passengers and goods to their destination. Around 1,800 Rhaetian Railway employees work hand in hand in a number of divisions for our joint success.
Infrastructure
The infrastructure division maintains and modernises both the rail network and our stations. It maintains tracks, points and safety systems, and ensures that the various routes and stations can be used safely at all times of the year whatever the weather. The focus is always on bringing technical progress into harmony with the historical uniqueness of the routes and buildings.
Rolling Stock
The Rolling Stock division is a key building block for the reliability of our trains. It takes care of our vehicles from the initial idea to their last day in service. In the workshop, specialists take care of the maintenance and modernisation of all vehicles: from steam engines through Vereina car transporter, freight and panoramic cars to state-of-the-art railcars. Thr Rolling Stock division not only makes our own vehicles fit for operation; it also carries out orders for other railways.
Production
On the basis of the work of Infrastructure and Rolling Stock, the Production division guarantees smooth operations. It makes sure that passengers, freight and car trains run reliably and on time with sufficient seats and capacity - both today and in the future. It dictates the rhythm in the cab and during shunting, as it does in the background when planning and monitoring rail traffic. And it moves freight from the road to the rails - 365 days a year.
Sales and Marketing
The Sales division focuses on our passengers from all over the world. This is where exciting products and offers are developed, tailored to the individual needs of our passengers, to be the marketed around the world. Whether it's market cultivation in Japan, advice at the station, passenger care on board or digitally in our online channels: the Sales division is in direct contact with our passengers at all levels.
Finance
As a recipient of public funding, Rhaetian Railway is particularly in the spotlight. The Finance division ensures that funds are used for their intended purpose, and that income and expenditure are kept in balance. It is also responsible for materials management and real estate management. The division also ensures additional income through the leasing of real estate and the further development of railway station sites.
Staff/HR
The Staff/HR division supports all divisions reliably and comprehensively. It is responsible for recruiting and supporting employees, ensuring quality assurance and process management, and is responsible for internal and external communication. It also ensures professional customer service and is committed to the safety and health of employees, guests and business partners.
Information Technology and Corporate Development
The IT and Corporate Development divisions report directly the the Director. With it state-of-the-art IT infrastructure and technically sophisticated solutions, IT provides important working foundations for all divisions and thus supports the continued digital development of the strategic orientation and shaping the future of Rhaetian Railway.
