Arosa Bärenland bear sanctuary experience

To the bears in a special carriage

In the RhB bear sanctuary carriage, you sit in a tree trunk on rails, surrounded by illustrations, books and exciting stories about the bears. This means that the whole family can immerse themselves in the world of animals during the journey.

Once at the top, the Arosa Bärenland bear sanctuary awaits you. It is a unique animal welfare and adventure project in which bears rescued from poor conditions find a new home. Playgrounds, themed trails and breathtaking mountain scenery make the excursion a day full of adventure, knowledge and unforgettable encounters.

A mother shows her child a display board in the Arosa Bärenland bear sanctuary informing them of the abused bears.

From the visitor platform, you can see the bears playing, climbing or resting in their new home while enjoying the mountain panorama. The visitor centre and the platform have interactive elements that convey fascinating facts about the lives of the animals of all ages.

The project by the Arosa Bären Foundation and the animal welfare organisation Four Paws gives bears rescued from poor conditions an animal-friendly life and makes animal welfare a tangible experience for everyone.
