Culture & Nature:

Cavaglia Glacier Garden - Eternal witnesses of the Ice Age

This is one journey back in time you can't afford to miss. It will lead you to a little-known natural wonder: the glacier mills at Cavaglia, directly on the Bernina Line, impressively demonstrate how the Alps were created millions of years ago. Locals name the metre-deep mills "the Giants’ Pots". They represent millennia of history carved in stone! Our tip: After the guided tour, enjoy a drink with views of Piz Palü.

BierVision Monstein - The highest-altitude brewery in Europe

Carlo Wasescha brews his own beer in a building dating back over 100 years – the former alpine dairy in the Walser village of Monstein. Water from crystal-clear mountain springs, Swiss hops and local organic malt from Gran Alpin are the ingredients that go into these fine beer specialities. The refreshing results are the delightfully named Monsteiner Huusbier ('house' beer), Monsteiner Wätterguoge Bier ('Alpine salamander') and the organic Monsteiner Bio SteinBock-Bier. At the end of the tour through the brewery, you will be treated to a platter of delicious local fare.  By the way: even those who don't drink beer are welcome. They will be offered a non-alcoholic drink: the Monsteiner Sunni-Sprudel. Tip: The brewery situated at 1,625 metres above sea level is the perfect place to watch the sun set over Davos

Sport & Adventure:

Sledging fun in Bergün - Speeding downhill on wooden runners

Starting at 1,800 metres above sea level, the descent is very swift: six kilometres of sledging fun from Preda and four kilometres from Darlux to Bergün. After all that excitement, you can look back over your day as you enjoy a cosy fondue at the Hotel Kulm in Preda. The Stiva Retica, our genuine period carriage, will take you to Preda for the start of your adventure. Then the fun can begin! The descent by sledge from Preda or Darlux down to Bergün has at least as many bends as the railway itself, but far more flurries of snow. The Hotel Kulm will be your venue in the evening for a cosy fondue in a relaxed ambience. You can then either stay overnight in the hotel or travel back home by RhB.
