The Swiss canton of Graubünden is a hearty place. Nowhere more so than in its village inns, where mountain farmers and hunters come to spin a good yarn. The Stiva Retica is one such establishment – with the added attraction that this hostelry on wheels actually moves through all Graubünden.

Since November 2020, the venerable Stiva Retica has been shining in new splendour. It now moves along the Rhaetian Railway’s tracks in an Alpine meadow look. 

The Stiva Retica has seven tables for four, a large communal table and a staffed bar serving beer on tap and wine by the glass. As in any true inn in this part of the country, this pub on rails also serves Salsiz sausage and mountain cheese, light bites and appetizers. Not to mention Veltliner wine and beer.

With its music system and seating for 44, the homely atmosphere of a country inn is ideal for social get-togethers – especially for clubs, associations or celebrations among friends. The Stiva Retica can run anywhere on the Rhaetian Railway network – apart from the Bernina Line.
