Over the border by train and bus

Through Val Müstair and the Vinschgau Valley to Meran or to the duty-free shopping zone in Livigno: the River Inn guides the way through the Engadin. Massive mountain ranges tower on either side of the route, in autumn the many larches are resplendent in gold.

The yellow post bus sets off from Zernez towards Vinschgau and Meran, first passing through the National Park, then on over the Ofen Pass to Mals, whose UNESCO World Heritage monastery is well worth a visit.  The trip then continues by train on the Vinschgau line down to Meran. The town has much to offer: wellness, spa and numerous shopping opportunities. The splendour of the apple blossom in spring and the golden-red of the woods in autumn lend this Mediterranean-style spa resort a unique ambience. Meran is also an ideal point from which to set off on a cycle tour.

If Livogno is your destination for a spot of duty-free shopping, climb on board the Silvestri Bus departing from Zernez. In summer, it also runs from Pontresina.
