The summer holidays are here and we are in the middle of the mountain biking season. We want to give you some inspiration for your next biking adventure and show you how we get you to the trails.

The Swiss canton of Graubünden, ‘home of trails’, offers countless biking trails and tours that are sure to quicken every mountain biker’s pulse. You don’t need a car with a bicycle carrier to experience them, as our trains will take you straight to the action. Our bike loading facilities allow you to enjoy a wonderful train ride through the mountains of Graubünden before setting off on the trail. Here are a few tips for where your next biking adventure might await you:

Engadin

Kilometres of single trails winding their way through the Alpine landscape – there are plenty of them in the Engadin. St. Moritz is the perfect starting point for various trails. Here you can go on longer tours or discover shorter trails.

Our tip: the Corviglia Grand Tour. This medium-difficulty tour includes everything a biker’s heart desires. Everything is on the agenda – from flowing curves to natural and technical sections. Take the cable car from St. Moritz to the Piz Nair and at the end of the tour, after 26 kilometres, you will arrive back in Celerina. As well as fun trails and breathtaking views, the tour also includes a trip on a funicular railway.

The Corviglia Grand Tour rewards with fun and a magnificent panorama.

Arosa

Arosa is not only great for skiing, because in summer there is a large selection of bike trails on offer. From simple single trails to highly technical enduro descents, you’ll find everything here. And our trains will take you right there.

Our tip: the enduro tour Arosa – Chur. The train makes it easy for you and your bike to travel from Chur to Arosa. You can marvel at and enjoy the beautiful mountain landscape from the train window. Once in Arosa, you can first try out a number of other trails, such as the family-friendly Hörnli Trail. As you go back to Chur, you will cover a difference in altitude of 1,500 metres over a 26-kilometre single trail. The route starts on the Ochsenalp and continues via Tschiertschen and Praden back down to the Alpine town.

Davos

With a total of 700 kilometres of bike trails, Davos has the right trail for every biker. Davos Klosters with the Prättigau region offers flow, technical descents and even a freeride descent. On RhB, you arrive at the heart of the action and can get straight onto the trails without having to find a parking space.

Our tip: the Viaduct route. The beautiful trail from Wiesen to Filisur is not only fun to ride but also takes you past the iconic Wiesen and Landwasser Viaducts. At 65 metres high and 142 metres long, the Landwasser Viaduct is the landmark of Rhaetian Railway and the UNESCO World Heritage site. From Filisur, you take a beautiful forest trail back to Wiesen station.

A Must-See: The Landwasser Viaduct
