Albula Railway Museum
A journey through time to the railway pioneers
World Heritage sites are living places of wonder. On 11/12 June 2022 – Swiss World Heritage Days – the umbrella organisation of Swiss World Heritage Sites (WHES) is inviting all and sundry to discover the jewels of our country. The UNESCO World Heritage Site and the RhB have a thrilling programme of activities in store.
On the weekend of 11/12 June 2022, as part of the celebrations marking the 175th anniversary of Switzerland’s Railways, the RhB is organising a railway festival in partnership with PostBus, the city of Chur and Engadin Bus. A varied programme of events is taking place at four locations in and around Landquart station.
In the Albula Railway Museum and RhB World Heritage Visitor Centre, 600 exhibits from more than a century of railway history pay tribute to the pioneering achievements that took place in Graubünden, to the people that shaped the railway – and to the landscape that was shaped by it.
The World Heritage Days find the Albula Railway Museum opening its doors free of charge to visitors of all ages. Follow one of the free guided tours – at 10.30 am and 1.30 pm.
The free tours are limited to 20 persons, so prior registration is highly recommended. Please notify the Railway Museum by email (contact(at)bahnmuseum-albula.ch) of the time and day of your desired tour, your telephone number and the number of participants.
