1 Disentis/Trun

The Nordic Surselva trail starts in Disentis with a view of the Benedictine abbey. After a few loops on the slightly inclined Salaplauna, you continue along the Rhine to Trun. Be sure to take a look to the left and right, as next to the trail is the Senda d’Art, where works of art by local artists can be seen. Once you have arrived in Trun, you can return to your starting point in comfort on RhB. If you still have enough energy, you can of course take the trail back.

2 Davos

The “Herzloipe Davos” is perfect for beginners. The short circuit is virtually flat and is located right next to the Davos cross-country skiing centre. It is also part of the “Davoser Königsetappe” (or Davos King’s Stage) and can be extended as desired as soon as you feel a little more confident on your skis.

3 Pontresina

The Engadin is paradise for cross-country skiers. A trip to the Roseg valley is particularly worthwhile. The Rosegtal trail starts directly at Pontresina station. The trail climbs steadily along the Ova da Roseg river through open meadows and larch forests. After seven kilometres, you certainly deserve a rest at Restaurant Roseg. If you are still feeling energetic, you can continue on towards the Lej da Vadret glacier lake. Fortunately, the return journey is less strenuous.

4 S-chanf – Zernez

The forest trail from S-chanf to Zernez is considered an extension of the Engadin Skimarathon. The trail winds its way through the forests of Engadin over a distance of around 15 kilometres. The route is mostly slightly downhill with a few short, intense climbs and descents to Zernez. The trail ends in Zernez. Here you can enjoy the last rays of sunshine on a sun terrace.

5 Bergün

In winter, Bergün is mainly known for its high-speed sledging run which starts in Preda. But the village in the Albula valley is also home to a cross-country ski trail of around seven kilometres. The trail starts at the Protestant church in Bergün and runs through wild, romantic landscapes and snowy fairytale forests – a wonderful change from the toboggan run.

Tip: At most stations you will find lockers where you can leave your backpack and shoes, for example. This is how you can enjoy the snowy winter landscapes without the need for extra luggage, and you may even reach your destination a few minutes faster.
