Railrider - Through Graubünden aboard a yellow, open-top carriage

When you travel with us, you can almost reach out and touch the sky. And we offer views that make you shudder with delight! The RhB open-top carriage takes you through a succession of tunnels that make you feel as if you are on a roller coaster or ghost train; and it’s just like being in an Alpine cable car whenever the train goes over a viaduct.

The pace quickens on the stretch from Chur, running via Filisur and Bergün and onward to Preda. Travelling aboard one of the train’s three open-top RhB carriages gives you plenty of time to breathe in the fresh air and take some snapshots to remember, as the train slows down and seems to float in the air on crossing the Landwasser Viaduct. The return leg of the journey takes you via Davos and Klosters and onwards to Landquart. Important: Railrider trains run on Sundays from 27th June to 5th September 2010. Seats are very much in demand, so advance reservation is vital.

We also offer these journeys in open observation cars: An hour’s fresh air as you travel from Chur to Arosa, daily in July, August and September, or a ride with panoramic views that goes to the highest point of the RhB network at Bernina - on the St. Moritz to Tirano line, daily in July and August.

Ideal for: families and adventure-lovers.

Sightseeing attractions: The Landwasser, Wiesner and Langwieser viaducts, the winding tunnels between Bergün and Preda, the UNESCO World Heritage line and the Preda-to-Bergün railway experience.
