Basic GA for:
If you share a home with another person, you can benefit from the GA-Plus Duo.
Conditions: If one member of the couple holds a Basic GA, the other person can save up to CHF 1'650.00 with GA-Plus Duo Partner.

GA for the family

  • GA-Plus Family child / GA-Plus young person
Children and young people aged from 6 to16 and from 16 to 25 respectively and living with their parents can benefit from the Kids’ GA, with even more discounts, provided at least one parent holds a Basic GA card.
  • GA-Plus Family partner
As a parent, you benefit from discounts of around 50% in comparison to the Basic GA card. You just need to ensure that your Basic GA for mother or father is used in conjunction with at least one Child GA.

Class upgrades with GA-Plus
If you have chosen to use the Basic GA for first-class travel, you can buy a GA-Plus ticket for first or second class. If you have chosen to use the Basic GA for second-class travel, you can buy a GA-Plus ticket for second class exclusively.
Class upgrades for children aged between 6 and 16 are free of charge, provided they are accompanied by a parent holding a valid first-class GA ticket.

Dog GA
Dog owners can travel with their pets for just CHF 720.00 a year extra for each pet. In first or second class.

The GA is a special card designed to add to your enjoyment. It also includes a series of special services: The GA card can also be suspended when required. Or replaced if lost. The GA card also lets you change class. Making your enjoyment a little less limitless.

Would you like to change class with your GA card? No problem. The GA card offers a 50% reduction on each journey. The GA card lets you upgrade to first class for the whole day from just CHF 40.00. One-day upgrades are available in multipacks (6 for 5) for just CHF 200.00. The GA card gives you one whole month’s first-class travel for just CHF190 (adults) or CHF 140.00 (youths / children or senior citizens). And if you decide to upgrade with the GA card, a pro rata amount is of course calculated for the still-unused time. (Exceptions: If you hold a GA-Plus Duo Partner or GA-Plus Family Partner card, you can only upgrade if the original GA card has been validated for first class or upgraded accordingly.)

Forgotten your GA card? Likewise no problem. Just make it known that you have forgotten your GA card when you buy a normal ticket at the station. Report back to the ticket office with your ticket and GA card within ten days to claim a refund (subject to an administration fee of CHF 5.00). Forgotten your GA card with no time to get to the ticket office? Just report to the ticket inspector on the train, who will carry out an online check to verify the validity of your GA card or issue you with a provisional ticket, which you should take to a ticket office within ten days in order to claim your refund (subject to an administration fee of: CHF 5.00).

Lost your GA card? Just take the purchase receipt and a valid ID document to a station ticket office. A CHF 30.00 fee buys you a temporary GA card valid for ten days. A replacement GA card will be posted to you in the meantime. The same naturally applies in the event of loss or theft. (Limitation: the replacement GA card cannot be suspended or cancelled, or refunds claimed.)

GA card suspension? If you do not require your GA card for a time, just go to a station ticket office and suspend its validity. Subject to a charge of CHF 10.00. Maximum suspension 30 days; minimum seven days. Suspension can run to up to seven days before the expiry of the GA card. (Exceptions: GA-Plus Family child / youth, transferred GA, GA dog). Each suspension costs CHF 10.00. You can use the suspended card on the train on these days (e.g. for a trip to the airport and back). So why suspend your card? The answer is simple: You receive a voucher corresponding to the value of the period of suspension. This voucher can then go towards the purchase of your next GA card. (If you hold a pre-paid GA card, you can also send the GA voucher by registered post to the following address: Contact Center SBB, GA-Service-Center, Postfach / PO Box, 3900 Brig, Switzerland. The amount will then be credited to your next monthly bill.)
