Conditions of carriage

General points 

  • Experience has shown that longer waits are to be expected on Saturdays between about 09.00 and 14.00 hrs. in the months of February and March
  • Cars, buses/coaches and commercial vehicles (up to 3.30 m in height) are loaded onto the train until shortly before departure.
  • Note that additional conditions of carriage apply to large buses and commercial vehicles of more than 3.30 m in height.
  • Motorcycles must be checked in at least 15 minutes before train departure
  • Note that you cannot specify a particular train. Note that we do not accept reservations!
  • Passengers must remain in their vehicles.



Drive-in-Check

  

1. Ensure that all four wheels of your vehicle are in the same wagon

2. Engage first gear or “Park” position

3. Switch of your engine

4. Apply the handbrake fully

5. Secure your roof-rack luggage or carry it inside the vehicle

6. Tune your radio to one of the three rail/road traffic info stations

7. DO NOT throw lighted cigarette ends or similar objects out of vehicle windows

8. Keep your travel ticket to hand throughout the journey (also applies to insurance documentation)

1. Dial 117 on your mobile phone

2. Press the SOS emergency button (located at the ends of each wagon)

3. Tune your radio to one of the three stations listed (safety precautions)

Hazardous goods

  

Transport of hazardous goods through the Vereina is not permitted

Additional conditions of carriage for buses/coaches and commercial vehicles

  • Limited transport capacity for vehicles of more than 3.30 m in height. Please observe the loading profile.
  • Vehicles of over 3.30 m in height must be checked in at least 15 minutes before train departure.
  • Vehicles are arranged lengthways. Stop in the middle of the wagon, centred with respect to either side of the car transporter carriage (ensure even distribution of weight).
  • Radio aerials must be retracted, taped down or removed. Side antennas must be retracted at least until they are level with the vehicle roof. Roof aerials must lie flat (taped down if required) or be removed in order to avoid contact with the electrical overhead during loading and unloading.
  • Loading onto transporter wagons with roof protection
    • max. 2.5 m width
    • max. 18.5 m length
    • max. height 3.30 m
    • max. 18 t total weight
    • The maximum access width for the transporter wagons is 2.90 m (remember to take door and wing mirrors into account). When driving through the transporter wagon, please fold in or remove the mirror on the driver’s side and fold the passenger-side mirror in to a point that still lets you see along the side of the vehicle. Bus and coach passengers must remain in their vehicles.
  • Loading onto transporter wagons without roof protection
    • max. 2.5 m width
    • max. 12.5 m wheelbase (frontmost to rearmost axis)
    • max. height 4 m
    • max. 28 t total weight (all other vehicles require completion of special-permit application form)
    • Normal practice is to load vehicles with of height of between 3.31 m and 4.00 m onto the wagon at the end of the train in Selfranga, and onto the wagon at the head of the train in Sagliains.
      Tolerance: Please observe the loading profile
    • Vehicles must be earthed (grounded) by loading personnel. Please do not move your vehicle until asked to do so by loading personnel.
    • Buses and coaches: Bus and coach passengers travelling from Klosters to Lavin or vice versa are booked onto scheduled passenger trains. These tickets are included in the price of transport.
    • What to do in the event of an emergency: Advance your vehicle to the next wagon coupling and keep as far as possible to the left to allow the front doors to be opened for exit. Passengers must not get off the car train until
  • told to do so by rail personnel::
