Are you travelling by car, but with a need to stretch your legs? Do you prefer to enjoy the views rather than concentrate on the road ahead? No problem. Just take the Albula Line. You car is loaded as freight, and you get to enjoy the trip,

as the train rolls through a fairytale landscape of enchanted forests, picturesque villages and towering mountains. That’s the Albula Line of the Rhaetian Railway. We put in all the strenuous effort. You just sit back and enjoy the ride, with nothing to worry about. Just load your car onto the transport wagon at Thusis and stroll down the train to take your seat in the comfortable passenger section or dining car. You can also reserve a place in the observation car for a supplement of just five francs.

Summer Timetable

The reliable connection with Oberengadin. Forget about sitting in queues of traffic, as you jump directly to your destination. The alternative: Indicate to leave the road, load your vehicle on the car train and use the Albula Tunnel to cut right through the valley of Albulatal. As you come out of the darkness and your eyes become accustomed to the light, you suddenly find yourself in Engadin.

Places on the Albula car transporter can be booked at most railway stations in Europe.

Maximum dimensions
Vehicles transported by RhB on the Albula Line are subject to the following maximum dimensions:

Height 2.50 m / width 2.20 m
Height 2.00 m / width 2.00 m
Height 2.70 m / width 1.80 m
Height 2.85 m / width 1.40 m

Users of vehicles exceeding 2.85 metres are recommended to use the Vereina car transporter

Drive-in-Check

1. Ensure that all four wheels of your vehicle are in the same wagon

2. Engage first gear or “Park” position

3. Switch of your engine

4. Apply the handbrake fully

5. Secure your roof-rack luggage or carry it inside the vehicle

6. Tune your radio to one of the three rail/road traffic info stations

7.Follow all instructions issued by railway personnel
